This is my first step-by-step tutorial, so go easy on me! I spend a lot of time folding stars for my friends and myself, somewhere around the neighborhood of 133 hours of my life and $442 on at least 8000 stars, if my statistics are accurate. But I've gotten a lot of questions on how to fold origami stars and I thought I'd try and make an explanation so other people can learn to fold stars too. I put a lot of work into this thing; I took over 300 photos of stars for this little side project of mine [my digital camera kept blurring up the shots >__<'] and I plan to do a follow-up with a group of photos of different styles of stars that I fold, so that people can see the variety of paper types, textures, and colors that are out there. If you see any mistakes or if something is not clear, please leave a comment so that I can correct it. Aside from that, enjoy looking at the tutorial and I wish everyone good luck on folding their own stars. The file is rather large; just full-view to see it. All comments and favorites are appreciated...

I really like this tutorial, but as for constructive criticism, it lacked clarity. You definitely gave a lot of expert tips and creative ideas (like the use of notebook paper). I had to look at another guide for step 5, since I didn't understand what exactly you meant by "opposite side".
Great job!

Neat! I've just been cutting my regular origami paper up into teeny strips and that's been working great. I have an origami box full of them. Actually, it's an inverted crown, but... Meh, it works. :D
